About Overdose Lifeline, Inc.

Overdose Lifeline, Inc. (ODL) is an Indiana-based nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals, families, and communities affected by the disease of addiction / substance use disorder through advocacy, education, harm reduction, prevention, resources, and support.

The organization has been on the front-lines of the opioid epidemic since 2014. Today, Overdose Lifeline works with more than 350 organizations, in 22 U.S. states, using one or more of our educational and training programs.

CE Credit and Certificate Program

In partnership with Purdue University College of Pharmacy, Office of Continuing Education, and funding from the Employers Forum of Indiana and the Amerisource Bergen Foundation, Overdose Lifeline has developed layperson and clinician CE courses and Certificate Program on Addiction / Substance Use Disorder with an Opioid Specialization.

The course and the certificate program are structured to support the educational needs of healthcare professionals, students, and the layperson. The courses / program assists laypersons and clinicians in building knowledge and competency in the underserved area - substance use disorder/opioid crisis. 

An individual may pursue individual course CE credits or complete the entire Certificate Program (20 credits). The Certificate Program is in development with 9 CE Credits available today and the remaining courses due in early 2020.

The online courses provide the following CE credit accreditations:

Nursing: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) — See Courses

Physician: Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) — See Courses

Other: AMA PRA Category 1™ (ACCME) which will service all other clinical and layperson CEs — See Courses

About the Certificate Program

The Advanced Certificate Program is designed for people with demanding schedules. Courses may be taken in any order. On your own schedule — at your own pace.

You will complete eight online courses with activities and discussions to build your knowledge and skill sets. Each course includes "Check Your Knowledge" activities to assist in preparing for the course final exam.

Overdose Lifeline has worked with subject matter experts to develop effective, evidence-informed adult training courses and programs addressing the opioid health crisis and addiction / substance use disorder.

Available for individual learning and continuing education or as trainer programs that allow an individual to be trained to deliver within their local community(ies).
